CLEAN WATER & SANITATION

We follow the REACH directive guidelines for chemical use, and all our materials are OEKO-TEX certified so we eliminate harmful substances from our textile products. Our TENCEL™ Lyocell are produced with a closed loop solvent system which means that almost no solvent is dumped into the ecosystem. Instead, it is recycled time and time again to produce new fibres and minimise harmful waste.

Through our Green Friends; ReSea and TreeApp, our monthly investments help maintain work for underprivileged in the developing world.

Through certification we directly have impact on a more responsible production. Specifically, we as a company have obtained the B Corp™ certification to secure and document our holistic approach to responsible consumption and production. Our Take-Back program is our newest initiative to increase the circularity of our products and this program will make sure all old Underprotection products will either be upcycled og recycled.

We are very worried about the overall condition of our rivers and oceans, and we are committed to do everything we can to create a sustainable future. All our swimwear is created from post-consumer polyester or PET bottles removed from rivers and oceans. We have partnered up with ReSea and have committed us to remove 1000 kg of plastic waste from oceans and rivers, read more here. We sell GUBBY FRIEND washing bags to limit the amount of microplastic entering our shared rivers and oceans.

We have partnered up with Tree App (a fellow B Corp™) to help them on their mission to make the world we live in a little greener by planting trees every day. To be more precise we are planting 150 trees each month and furthermore we are giving our customers the opportunity to plant trees while they are shopping. Tree by tree we are making the world a little greener each day. We only use materials that are classified or certified sustainable. The majority of the natural materials that we use are TENCEL™ Lyocell, responsible wool and organic cotton. When we use natural materials, we select qualities that are as close to 100% as possible and therefore not qualities where several different materials are included, this to make the product easier to recycle at the end of the cycle, which reduces the negative effects.

We have worked with our Indian supplier since the very beginning and are very fortunate that she still only produces for us and that we are able to keep her work force stabile through many years.
